Pine Nuts Shrimps/玉米虾炒松仁


2 fresh yellow corns,cut the corn off the cob
A little bit of green and red pepper for color
1/3 cup of pine nuts
A few pieces of shrimps
Peeled, deveined and marinated shrimps with salt, white pepper and cooking wine, precook in boiling water and set aside.
In a non-stick pan, with oil at medium heat add the pine nuts and cook less than 2 minutes (pine nuts get burn easily) set aside.
With some oil in the pan, add garlic then the corn, green and red pepper and sautéed for a few minutes. Add 1/3 teasp of salt, a little bit of sugar and 1/3 cup of water then cover with a lid and cook for 2 more minutes. Add chicken powder and pine nuts.

Sour Potatoes/ 醋溜土豆丝


This dish is so easy to make and you will be surprised to find out how delicious it could be. Try it.

3-4 medium size Potatoes Shred those as thin as you can.

In a really big bowl rinse the shredded potatoes until you see the water run clear, drain.

In a hot sauteed pan, add oil then a few pieces of garlic, when the oil is hot adds the potatoes in and sauteed for a few minutes, add 1teasp of salt, 1/3 cup of water or broth cover with a lid then cook for 2 minutes. Add 2 tbsp. of vinegar and 1 tbsp. of sugar and a little bit of chicken powder. Sprinkle some green onion for garnish.

Roast Mix Vegetable/烤蔬菜



As per my friend’s  request that I should post something easy for beginner. I think there is nothing easier than this dish. It is healthy, yummy and easy to make.

Mix any kind of vegetable that you have from you refrigerator. ( I used 1/3 purple cabbage, 1/2 Japanese pumkin, 1 Medium size carrot, a few cherry tomatoes, one zucchini, one  onion and 3 medium size potatoes) cut them into cubes. add a little bit of salt and black pepper and some extra virgin olive oil, mix well. bake in the 400 F preheated over for one hour. Of course it depends on how much vegetable you have. use your fork to stick into potatoes, if it is done then the rest vegetables are done too.

¼ head of cabbage

1 pound of beef

2 stalk of celery

One medium size tomato

½ purple onion

1 medium size carrot

2 small red skinned potatoes

Tomato sauce 4 oz.

Cube everything. Seal each side of beef until golden brown by pan fried them in a hot nonstick pan. Take beef out the pan, add some butter to the pan, add some minced garlic then sautéed all the vegetable for a few minutes until they are tender, and add a few pinch of salt. Add in one quart of water or broth, tomato sauce then beef and bring it to boil with medium high heat. Then reduce the heat to medium low and cook for another 30 minutes. You can add a little sugar if you like it to be a little bit of sweet and sour at the same time.( I prefer it to be sweet and sour) Add more salt and black pepper if needed.

In a big cooking pan add enough water to cook 6 pieces of wings. Bring the water to boil add 2-3 pieces of ginger, cook the wings in the boiling water until the juice running out of the wing is clear when you stick a fork into it.

Cool the wing to the room temperature, and then add enough pickle sauce to cover all the wings. Leave them in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours. For the best result 24 hours is recommended. This recipe is also good for chicken feet and pig feet.

Pepper Steak With Onion/青椒牛


5 oz. of shredded beef

Half green pepper (shredded)

One small yellow onion (shredded)

One cup of water adds in ½ teasp of baking soda, leave beef in it for 15 minutes. Rinse the beef under the running water for 1 minute. Drain the beef then marinate it with salt, white pepper, 1/2tbsp of starch and a little bit of cooking wine for 30 minutes.

In a hot nonstick pan add 3 tbsp oil, sautéed the beef until it turns color, set aside.

Add the shredded onion with the rest oil in the pan and sautéed until they are soft then add the green pepper and beef. Add 1/2 tbsp. of oyster sauce, 1/2teasp. of soy sauce and 1/2 tbsp. of cooking wine and sautéed for another 2 minutes.

What Do I Want You To Know Before You Read My Recipes?

When I cook, I don’t always follow the recipes. Well, maybe the first time I will. Then after that I will adjust the cooking to how I want it to be. I always tell my friends cook however they want, after all they’re the ones eating the food. Here I am showing you the most frequently used spices/sauces for my cooking. Also the measuring cups and spoons.

1 cup =240ml

1 tbsp =15ml

1teasp =5ml

1 杯 = 240 毫升
1 湯匙 = 15 毫升
1茶勺 = 5 毫升


Water Spinach Salad/蒜伴空心菜


A little more than 1 pound of Water spinach (after picked)


½ tbsp. garlic

1.5 tbsp of light soy sauce

½ tbsp. of oyster sauce

1.5 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil

½ teasp of chicken powder

1 teasp of sugar

Mix all the ingredients together and set aside

In a big sautéed pan bring water to boil, and then add water spinach to it with 1 tbsp of oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes then drain really well. Add the sauce to the vegetable.

大鍋裡把水燒開,然後放空心菜进去煮外加1 湯匙油。煮 3-4 分鐘,然後捞出擠幹水。將醬汁加到菜里。

Mapo Tofu/麻婆豆腐


Half box of soft tofu (cubed)

Ground pork ¼ cup

½ cup of broth

Minced Ginger a little bit

Scallion a little bit

Minced garlic a little bit

thick broad-bean sauce ½ tbsp



Add a little bit of oil to a hot non-stick pan alone with ginger, garlic, white part of scallion mixture and the thick broad-bean sauce cook about 15-20 seconds, when you can smell the fragrance add in ground pork. When the pork turns white add ½ cup of broth and ½ tbsp of oyster sauce. Add tofu then cook until it is boiling, thicken the sauce by adding 2 tbsp of water and corn starch mixture. Add a little bit of chicken powder and a few drops of sesame oil.

郫县豆瓣酱1/2 勺

不粘鍋加热加一點點的油, 接着加生薑、 大蒜、 蔥白和郫县豆瓣酱炒約 15-20 秒,當你能聞到香味时加入猪肉。 當豬肉變成了白色时加 ½ 杯肉湯和半湯匙蠔油。加豆腐至煮开,加入 2 湯匙的水澱粉的混合物勾芡。末了加一點點的雞粉和芝麻油。




Steam White Rice/炊饭

I am going to show you how to cook rice. You may say who doesn’t know how to cook rice right? Well what I am going to show you here may not happen in your day to day cooking. The rice is so full of fragrance of the rice cooker. You’re even more confused? Let me show you.

3 ½ cup of long grain white rice

Wash the rice and rinse, pour all the rice into the rice cooker. Put the rice cooker into a big sauteed pan with a very little of hot water on the bottom. Why a little water? We have to make sure the water in the cooking pan won’t reach to the rice inside the rice cooker, if it does, then the rice on the bottom will become mushy, then the steam will never goes up, therefore the rest of rice will never get done. Also make sure you cook it WITHOUT a cover and keep your eyes on it because you may need to add more water at any time.

After about 20 minutes, when you see the steam coming up from the rice, get all the rice out of the rice cooker and pour into a big container.

Add 2 1/2 cup of boiling water into the rice and cover it up with a lid, 10 minutes later stir it up from the bottom to the top to make sure every grain of rice absorbs enough water and cover for another 5 minutes. If you want you rice to be dry and grain by grain, use less water.

When the rice absorbs all the water, pour the rice back to the rice cooker; by now you should start smell the fragrance of the rice and the wooden rice cooker. Cook for another 15 to 20 minutes or until few minutes after you see the steam from the rice again ( WITHOUT any cover again).
The overnight rice is so good for fried rice.


3 ½ 杯的長粒白米

添加 2 1/2 杯的沸水进去蓋起蓋子,10 分鐘後从上至下搅拌一下,以確保每一粒米吸收足夠的水,再蓋5 分鐘。當米饭吸收了所有的水時,倒米飯回杉木蒸饭桶中回锅中再蒸 ;現在你應該開始闻到大米和杉木诱人的香味。再煮 15 到 20 分鐘,或直到你看見蒸汽再一次从飯中出来后再蒸几分钟。
